Frequently asked questions

Sziget 2026 runs from August 5 to August 11, 2026 on Óbuda Island, Budapest. Gates open on Wednesday and the island closes on Tuesday morning.
Budapest has two main airports (BUD is the international one). Trains and buses connect from all over Europe. The island is a short walk from the city center or a quick tram ride.
Absolutely. Most of the Fam arrive solo and leave with friends from all over the world. That’s the whole point. Join the WhatsApp group before you go and you’ll already know people when you arrive.
Yes, you need a valid Sziget ticket to enter the festival. The Fam is a community within Sziget, not a separate event. Once you have your ticket, you can join us at Base Camp.
Base Camp location is shared in the WhatsApp group before the festival. Look for the Fam flag and the wall of country flags. It’s usually near a central camping area with shade and power.
Tent, sleeping bag, earplugs, cash/card, refillable water bottle, power bank, sunscreen, and a flag from your country if you want to add it to the wall. Most importantly: bring a good mood.
Yes. The Fam is a group of people, not a subscription. The Sziget 2026 guide, Base Camp, the WhatsApp group and admin help when something goes wrong are free and stay free. Pay nothing, show up at Base Camp on your first afternoon, and you’re in.
Recognition and access, not extra content: a Supporter badge next to your name in the group, the supporters’ thread, a priority slot for the Base Camp photo, a vote on the raffle prize and next year’s merch, and your name on the Fam wall if you want it. Every guide on this site stays open to everyone.
