Quick answers so you can spend less time emailing and more time planning your festival.
What is Your Festival Family?
A community of solo festival-goers who become a family, far from family. We started at Sziget and now meet at festivals and events across Europe.
How do I join the Fam?
Go to Join the Fam, fill in the form and introduce yourself. An Admin will welcome you and point you to the right chats.
Do I have to come alone?
No. Some members bring friends, partners or family. The Fam is simply built so nobody has to feel alone at a festival.
Which festivals do you go to?
Sziget Festival in Budapest is our home base. Balaton Sound is growing. We also do “On Tour” trips to smaller festivals when enough members want to go.
What is Base Camp?
Base Camp is our shared camping area at a festival. It is where the Fam sleeps, eats, hangs out, plays games and welcomes new people.
How do I find you at Sziget?
Look for the wall of flags. Check the announcement channels for the exact location and join the Daily Fam Meet at the Hangout at 15:00.
Can I buy a ticket through the Fam?
We are not a ticket marketplace. Official Admin-supported offers sometimes happen, but never buy or sell tickets from random DMs.
Is there an age limit?
There is no official age limit, but most festivals are 18+. Some Fam activities are 18+. Family-friendly activities are open to all ages.
What should I bring?
A tent, sleeping bag, reusable cup, sunscreen, power bank, ID, festival ticket and an open mind. We also share a printable packing checklist soon.
Can I camp with the Fam?
Yes. Base Camp is open to members. Introduce yourself first so we know you are coming and can help you find a spot.
What are the Daily Fam Meets?
Every festival day at 15:00 we meet at the Hangout, catch up, take a group photo and share the plan for the day.
How do the games and contests work?
We run Beerpong, Bingo, Karaoke, Teams Contest, Scavenger Hunt and more. Rules vary by event; check the festival-specific info sheet for details.
Is the Fam on Discord, WhatsApp or Telegram?
Yes. We use WhatsApp for the international group, Discord for some festivals and Telegram for certain sub-groups. Links are shared after you join.
Can I volunteer?
Absolutely. Help welcome newcomers, run a game, bring supplies or protect the vibe. Email an Admin or say so in your join form.
I have an emergency at a festival. Who do I call?
Call or message the Fam SOS line: +31 (0)6-84367089. For life-threatening emergencies, call local emergency services first.
