Find Your Perfect Camping Zone
Choosing where to camp at Sziget might be the most important decision you make for your festival experience. The wrong spot can mean sleepless nights, long walks to the stages, and queues for everything. The right spot can make your week feel effortless.
Sziget offers several camping zones, from completely free Basic Camping to luxury glamping. This guide breaks down every option so you can choose the perfect zone for your needs.
Overview of All Camping Zones
Sziget Festival 2026 has four main camping categories:
– Basic Camping – Free, bring your own tent, any spot on the island (except restricted areas)
– Siesta Camping – Upgrade zone on the north side near the Danube beach (80-120 euros)
– Sziget Ville Premium – Luxury camping with pre-set tents and premium facilities (250-400 euros)
– Caravan Camping – Dedicated area for campervans and caravans
There is also XS Camping for guests with disabilities and their companions (free, registration needed).
Basic Camping – The Free Option
Price: Free (included with your festival ticket, plus 30 euro refundable tent deposit)
Location: Throughout the island, except program venues and upgrade camping areas
Best for: Solo travelers, budget-conscious festival-goers, social butterflies
Pros: Completely free, huge social atmosphere, camp anywhere on the island, close to the action.
Cons: Can be very noisy at all hours, basic communal showers and toilets, no power at your tent, dusty or muddy, no reserved space.
Best spots: Under trees near the center for natural shade, near toilet blocks but not right next to them, the quiet edges on the north-east side. Avoid main paths, areas near stages, and low-lying ground.
Siesta Camping
Price: Approximately 80-120 euros for the week
Location: Northern side of the island, close to the Danube beach
Best for: People who want to sleep, couples, introverts
Pros: Much quieter than Basic Camping, closer to the Danube beach, better toilet facilities, community chill-out zone, more space per person.
Cons: Costs extra, less social than Basic Camping, further from main stages (15-20 minute walk), still bring your own tent.
Siesta showers are a clear step above Basic – cleaner, better water pressure, shorter queues. The zone has quiet hours enforced by staff.
Sziget Ville Premium Camping
Price: Approximately 250-400 euros for the week
Location: Dedicated premium zone
Best for: Couples, groups who want guaranteed setup, anyone who values comfort
Pros: Pre-set-up tent (no assembly required), power at your accommodation, premium sanitary facilities, 24/7 dedicated staff, deluxe hangout areas, more secure and private.
Cons: Expensive, less social atmosphere, further from the main festival buzz, pre-set tents are in a dedicated zone so you cannot choose your exact spot.
Showers are the best on the island – hot water is reliable, queues are short, facilities are cleaned regularly. Almost hostel-quality.
How to Choose the Right Zone
If you want to meet people and save money -> Basic Camping (arrive early on Day 0 for a good spot)
If you want to sleep and have better facilities -> Siesta Camping (the best value upgrade)
If you want comfort and don’t mind spending -> Sziget Ville Premium (pre-set tent, power, premium showers)
If you are road-tripping with your own vehicle -> Caravan Camping
Noise levels from quietest to loudest: Caravan -> Sziget Ville Premium -> Siesta -> Basic edges -> Basic center.
If you are a light sleeper, do not camp in Basic Camping without earplugs and a sleep mask. Even then, Siesta or Premium is a better choice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which camping zone is best at Sziget?
Basic and Silent zones are the best value for solo travelers and the Fam: quiet at night, closer to amenities, and full of other festival-goers. Premium zones add shade and power but cost significantly more. Full comparison in this guide.
Is camping at Sziget free?
Basic Camping is included with most festival tickets. Upgraded zones (Siesta, Premium, VIP camping) cost extra and sell out early — book before the festival.
What time should I arrive at Sziget to get a good camping spot?
Arrive on the first day, early in the morning, ideally right when the gates open. Zones fill up fast, especially Basic Camping. Check the official gate opening times for your ticket type.
Is it safe to camp alone at Sziget?
Yes. Sziget is one of the safest large festivals in Europe with 24/7 security, medical staff and SOS points. Camping with the community zones is even safer and more fun — you are never truly alone.
How far is the camping from the festival stages?
It depends on the zone: Basic Camping is the closest to the main gates, while quieter zones can be a 10-20 minute walk. Consider your energy level — you will do this walk every day.
